Welcome to Leigh & Bransford Memorial Hall
The Leigh & Bransford Memorial Hall and Recreation Ground is probably the largest community hall complex in Worcestershire, with wonderful views of the Malvern Hills. Our building comprises an attractive reception area, two spacious halls, each with their own toilets, a well-equipped central kitchen with adjacent bar and outside a large playing field of more than an acre. The facilities may be hired separately or all together as a complete package.
LATEST UPDATE FROM THE TRUSTEES OF
THE LEIGH AND BRANSFORD MEMORIAL HALL : AUGUST 2024
Thank you for visiting our website and considering us as a venue for your future hire.
We have updated our HOMEPAGE to help you navigate and understand our online booking system, together with an important summary about your responsibilities* as the lead hirer.
Please take a moment to read this information before proceeding to the rest of our website.
1. CHECKING AVAILABILITY
If you just want to find out if we have availability on a specific date and time, then simply follow the next few steps:
- click on the BOOKING/AVAILABILITY tab
- at the dropdown menu select the option you need (i.e. BOOK SMALL HALL)
- a new window will open – this is the online booking form for the option chosen
- click on the CHECK IN box at the top of the second column
- choose your preferred date from the monthly calendars which then appears
- click on your chosen day and month
- the hourly slots available for your chosen date will then show in GREEN
- if any of the hourly slots are shown in RED, these are already booked and not available
- please be aware that due to the limitations of the booking software, (with the exception of the 48-hour wedding package) if your hire is planned to spread across more than one calendar day, each day has to be booked separately
2. MAKING AND PAYING FOR YOUR BOOKING ONLINE
Having chosen your date and checked that the times you require are available, you can then enter all the information requested on the online form.
When you book online you must agree to be bound by our Terms and Conditions of Hire. You agree to these by checking the appropriate box during the online booking process. Unless you agree to these T&Cs by checking the box, your online booking request will not be accepted.
Payment in full is usually required at the point of booking and is made through the secure PayPal system. Your card details are processed by PayPal and are neither seen nor held by the Hall.
If you later have to cancel your booking and request a refund (subject to our refund policy – see conditions 13 – 15 in our T&Cs) this will also be processed through PayPal and the refunded amount credited to the card used to make the original payment. Refunds may take up to 14 days.
3. CONFIRMATION OF YOUR BOOKING – KEEP THE INFORMATION SENT TO HAND
When you submit your on-line booking request, an automated email should immediately arrive in your inbox acknowledging the request – at this point in the process your booking is provisional.
Confirmation of your booking will be made by a second email usually within 72 hours (3 working days) after checking that there are no clashes or other reasons why the booking may not go ahead.
The confirmation email will also include attachments giving you useful and important information about your booking – for example how to gain access to the building (we operate a self-entry and self-exit system using an external key safe) and what you must do before finally leaving the building at the end of your hire (see below).
It is important that you read through the information we send you, keep it safe and readily available because there will usually be no further correspondence with you (unless you contact us again) before your hire takes place. We therefore recommend that you also print off the information. We have found in the past that where bookings have been made several weeks, months or in some cases years before the actual event date, some hirers lose (or delete) their confirmation email and with it all the information they will need, including how to gain access through our self-entry system. However, all the information sent to you can be found on the Useful Information section in the menu on our website.
4. WHAT YOU MUST DO AT THE END OF YOUR HIRE
At the end of your hire, it is your responsibility to clean up and clear away in line with our Terms and Conditions. This means that before leaving the building you must work through our END OF HIRE checklist, complete the form, sign it and then leave it in the kitchen. After you have left, our Hall Checkers will then use your completed checklist to ensure that the building has been left in a safe, clean and proper state for the next hirer.
5. MAKING CONTACT
You can contact us by email at: info@leighandbransfordhall.co.uk with any queries about a booking you have already made or are hoping to make in the future. We try to answer all emails within 3 working days, but if you don’t hear back from us within that time, please text our Booking Assistant on ...
6. AND FINALLY . . . . LIVING WITH CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)
Although there are currently no coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions in the UK, the trustees are mindful of the ever-present risk to the public that popular community meeting spaces, such as the Leigh and Bransford Memorial Hall, can pose to the spread of infection through poor hygiene regimes. That is why we engage the regular services of professional cleaners to ensure we maintain as clean and as safe an event space as possible.
However, we all have a shared responsibility to keep the Hall’s internal spaces clean and safe, not least by ensuring that no one enters the building who either has covid-19 or may still be infectious from it – which puts other users of the building at risk.
How you and your guests can help to minimise the risk of spreading coronavirus:
- Coronavirus (COVID-19) symptoms are similar to those for colds and flu. They include a high temperature, a cough and a loss or change to your sense of smell and/or taste
- If you think you have coronavirus you should not enter the Hall and try to stay at home
- While you’re staying at home with coronavirus (COVID-19), you can ease mild symptoms by resting, drinking plenty of fluids and taking painkillers
- You are most infectious (or contagious) in the first 5 days after your symptoms start
- You can also spread COVID-19 in the 48 hours before your symptoms start
- You can help stop the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) by getting vaccinated, regular hand-washing and taking care when meeting other people, such as keeping a safe distance apart.
If you decide to hire the Hall you must ensure, as far as possible, that all those attending your event do not have coronavirus, show any symptoms of the disease or, if they have recently contracted covid-19, are now free of any symptoms. See also condition 26 in our Terms and Conditions.
Thank you

(This update – August 2024)
The Small Hall measures approximately 6.1m x 11.9m and has the furniture storeroom at the one end. It has capacity for up to 150 people; its own dedicated set of toilets; folding doors that link to the Large Hall and easy access to the central kitchen (with serving hatches); bar area (with serving hatch) and entrance lobby.
The Large Hall measures approximately 8.5m x 16.4m and has a large, curtained stage area at the one end. It has capacity for up to 160 people, its own separate entrance lobby and toilets; folding doors that link to the Small Hall and easy access to the central kitchen; bar area (with serving hatch) and stage with rear door access.
Both halls may be hired together, which is ideal for larger gatherings; they can accommodate up to 310 people. The folding doors between the two halls give greater flexibility to create separate and distinct areas for the different activities that may be taking place at your event, i.e. eating and dancing, etc. You get exclusive use of the whole building and its facilities for the duration of your hire.
Our weekend Wedding Package gives you exclusive use of the entire community hall complex, (both halls; both sets of toilets; the lobby; central kitchen with serving hatches; bar room and field) from 1pm on Friday through to 1pm on Sunday. Plenty of time to decorate; dress the tables prior to the Reception and to clean and clear away on the Sunday. Contact us if your wedding doesn’t fall over a weekend as we may be able to offer you the 48-hour hire during the week.
Our site also has an attractive flat field of over an acre that is ideal for sporting parties, sports clubs, bouncy castle parties, car boot sales, BBQs or even events that require a marquee. The field can be hired with either hall or as a stand-alone. Access for vehicles, if required, can be made available through a separate gateway. See our FAQs for more details about hiring the field.
There are, subject to availability, overnight spaces for motor homes, caravans and/or tents for those of you attending an event at the Hall. Access to the camping field is through a securely locked gate from the car park. You will have overnight access to the Hall’s toilets and kitchen – but please note there are no shower facilities.
