Welcome to Leigh & Bransford Memorial Hall
Leigh & Bransford Memorial Hall and Recreation Ground is probably the largest community hall complex in Worcestershire, with wonderful views of the Malvern Hills. Our building comprises two spacious halls, each with their own toilets, a small committee room, a well-equipped central kitchen with adjacent bar and outside a two-acre playing field. The facilities may be hired separately or all together as a complete package.

HIRING THE HALL AFTER LOCKDOWN
Thank you for visiting our website and considering us for your next hire.
The Hall is now CLOSED due to the imposition of a 4-week lockdown in England, which is due to end on Wednesday 2 December – however in the event that the current lockdown period is extended the hall will remain closed until the England-wide lockdown ends.
At the end of lockdown we believe that England will return to the 3-Tier system in operation before Thursday 5th November. Unless things change dramatically we expect that the parishes of Leigh and Bransford will continue to be within Tier 1 – the lowest (medium) covid alert.
We have therefore left our online booking pages open so you can still provisionally book the Hall(s) and/or Field for permitted events compatible with Tier 1 conditions provided that they take place on or after Thursday 3rd December (or when the lockdown period officially ends). We have set out below some guidance to help you determine whether your planned event is permitted in Tier 1, but would also remind you that while the pandemic continues we have had to introduce some additional Covid-19 Terms and Conditions of Hire to which all potential hirers must agree as a condition of their hire. IS YOUR PROPOSED EVENT PERMITTED WITHIN TIER 1 RULES?
The enforceable Rule of 6 will continue to apply to social gatherings when the Hall reopens – but there are exceptions where we may be able to accept bookings for events with groups of up to 15 people (possibly up to 30, subject to final confirmation of the rules in force within Tier 1 areas after the England-wide full lockdown ends) and provided appropriate social distancing measures can still be maintained.
Until further notice you may apply online to book the hall if you consider your group event is:
- for work, and voluntary or charitable services
- for education, training, registered childcare, or providers offering before or after-school clubs for children
- to organise and/or participate in children’s playgroups
- organised indoor and outdoor sports, physical activity and exercise classes
- youth groups or activities
- wedding and civil partnership ceremonies and receptions,
Sadly, for the time being and even after the current lockdown period ends, it will still no longer be possible to hire the hall for other family (or non-family) gatherings such as a child’s birthday party, family anniversary, recreational or community clubs, groups or organisations (other than for educational, training, sports, fitness or exercise classes) unless, of course, no more than 6 people from one household attend.

OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION
It is important to remember that as a potential hirer of the Hall and/or its grounds you must first agree to comply with all these new conditions. If you decide to make an online booking you will be asked, when completing the online form, to agree to the new Covid-19 conditions in addition to our usual Terms and Conditions. All bookings made online are provisional and subject to confirmation.
As the hirer you are responsible for ensuring:
- NUMBERS are limited to the stated maximum number people prevailing at the time for that event (including the hirer(s) and children)
- FACE MASKS are worn during the hire event – although there are exceptions to this requirement we have listed on our website
- THE CONTACT DETAILS for all your guests are recorded in case one or more of them subsequently contract the disease – there is now a QR code dedicated to the Leigh and Bransford Memorial hall posted inside the building which links to the NHS app
- THESE CONTACT DETAILS will be provided to the NHS Test and Trace programme should one or more of your guests contract the disease during your event
- YOU ACCEPT the primary responsibility for the welfare and health of you and your guests during the event
- YOU CONDUCT AND PERFORM a thorough clean through and clear away operation at the end of your event using our end-of-hire checklist. This will be sent to you when your booking is confirmed. Failure to complete and sign this checklist will incur an automatic, additional charge of £50.00.
Future bookings that comply with the conditions attaching to Tier 1 where provisionally accepted will be confirmed provided that the rules regarding social gatherings do not change. In the event that your hire has to be cancelled by us because of covid-19 rule changes we will refund any monies already paid – but this will be the limit of our liability to you. The Trustees will accept no responsibility for any other losses that, as hirer, you may incur if your event has to be cancelled.
Of course the very nature of the virus means that even after following all the current guidance, hiring any community venue will never be entirely risk free – but our aim, working with you and with your help, is to ensure that the Leigh and Bransford Memorial Hall can be as safe as possible during the current pandemic.

The Small Hall – part of the original memorial hall – measures approximately 6.1m x 11.9m and has a large storeroom at the one end. It has capacity for up to 150 people; its own dedicated set of toilets; folding doors that link to the Large Hall and easy access to the central kitchen (with serving hatches); bar area (with serving hatch); entrance lobby and furniture storeroom.
The Large Hall – part of a later extension to the original building – measures approximately 8.5m x 16.4m and has a large, curtained stage area at the one end. It has capacity for up to 160 people, its own separate entrance lobby and toilets; folding doors that link to the Small Hall and easy access to the central kitchen; bar area (with serving hatch) and stage with rear door access.
Both halls may be hired together, which is ideal for larger gatherings; they can accommodate up to 310 people. The folding doors between the two halls gives greater flexibility to create separate and distinct areas for the different activities that may be taking place at your event, i.e. eating and dancing, etc. You get exclusive use of the whole building and its facilities for the duration of your hire.
Our Wedding Package gives you exclusive use of the entire community hall complex, (both halls; both sets of toilets; the lobby; central kitchen with serving hatches; bar room and field) from 1pm on the Friday through to 1pm on Sunday. Plenty of time to decorate; dress the tables prior to the Reception and to clean and clear away on the Sunday. Contact us if your wedding doesn’t fall over a weekend.
To the front of the halls we have a flat field of approximately 2 acres set in area that is ideal for sporting parties, sports clubs, bouncy castle parties, car boot sales, BBQs or even events that require a marquee. The field can be hired with either hall or stand-alone. Access for vehicles, if required, can be made available through a separate gateway. See our FAQs for more details about hiring the field.
There is, subject to availability, space for up to 5 caravan pitches to be booked at any one time in this beautiful location. Access to the camping field is through a securely locked gate from the car park. Fresh water from a mains tap is offered to top up your caravan water, but there are no onsite washing or toilet facilities unless you are attending an event that is booked at the Hall. Pitches for tents can also be made available.

WEDDING PACKAGE£595This package provides full exclusive use of the hall for 48hrs - From 1pm on the Friday until 1pm on the Sunday. Your hire rate will include the use of field on the day of the actual wedding - which is a great photo opportunity.
FIELD HIRE PPH£5The hire period will start from the time of entry until final departure. Ideal for sporting parties, sports clubs, bouncy castle parties, car boot sales, BBQs or even a marquee, the field can be booked with either hall or as a stand alone hire. An outside tap is available.
CARAVAN PER DAY£10There is space for up to 5 caravan pitches or tents. Access to the camping field is through a securely locked gate from the car park. Fresh water from a mains tap is available, but there are no onsite washing or toilet facilities. Pitches are charged by the day.
